Southwest Windpower
SouthWest Windpower is located in Arizona and was established in 1987 and is currently one of the world’s largest producers of small wind turbines. Southwest wind turbines include the Air Breeze and Air X, Whisper and Skystream. Nova Sun Power has been providing Southwest Windpower products since 1996.
Skystream 3.7
The Skystream 3.7 is one of Southwest Windpower’s newest horizontal-axis grid-tied wind turbines (there is a battery-charging turbine available as well). The Skystream 3.7 has the controls and inverter built into the wind generator. The Skystream has a rated peak capacity of 2.4 kW and is available in 120/240 VAC split 1 Ph, 60 Hz and 120/208 VAC 3 Ph compatible, 60 Hz for grid-tied applications. A battery charge controller kit is available for battery charging systems. The rotor diameter is 3.72m (12 ft) and has a rated wind speed of 13 m/s (29 mph), a cut-in speed of 3.5 m/s (8 mph), and a survival speed of 63 m/s (140 mph). The Skystream 3.7 comes with a 5-year limited manufacturer’s warranty.

Whisper
Southwest Windpower offers the Whisper 100, 200 and 500 horizontal-axis wind turbines that are battery-charging wind turbines. The Whisper 100 is best suited for moderate to high wind, 4 m/s (9 mph) and above; the Whisper 200 is best suited for low to moderate winds, 3 m/s (7 mph); and the Whisper 500 is best suited for moderate wind environments. These wind turbines come with a Whisper Charge controller included.
The Whisper 100 has a rotor diameter of 2.1m (7 feet) and rated power of 900 watts at 12.5 m/s (28 mph), with the capability of producing 100 kWh/month at 5.4 m/s (12 mph). It comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
The Whisper 200 has a rotor diameter of 2.7m (9 feet) and rated power of 1 kW at 11.6 m/s (26 mph), with the capability of producing up to 200 kWh/month. It comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
The Whisper 500 has a rotor diameter of 4.5m (15 feet) and rated power of 3 kW at 10.5 m/s (24 mph), with the capability of producing 538 kWh/month at 5.4 m/s (12 mph). It comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
